When the selfish cloud-ridden skies, release a cooling sheet of rain, the dry ground quenches its thirst, and the dark-golden meadows dance in glee.
The holes dotting our backyard fill up, the rabbits and squirrels scurry for new shelter, while the toads and frogs gurgle at the entryways, the ground is too fragile to tread with human feet.
All the pressuring warmth lifts up to heaven, leaving us suspended in chilled glory, as we cry, “at last the time has come to shed our worries!”

The sun had just begun to peek over the horizon, casting a pale sheen over the ocean’s surface, turning it cerulean-blue. A funny thing about the horizon was how everything seemed to sweep out from it; there was nothing more to comment on—it was just miraculous. The water came in three forms here: the roaring kind found by peering into the distance, the churning kind that collided with itself under the pier, and the lapping kind that sloshed upon and withdrew from the shore.Pokemon GA 2

“Where is that?” Whenever anyone asks where I come from, and I answer, this is pretty much the question that ensues. Over the years the reactions have varied. Some people lift their eyebrows quizzically and pull up their lower lip, as if they want to look surprised, but the rest of their body won’t respond. Others rapidly blink several times, as if that will bring the answer into focus for them. A few even let their mouths hang open for a moment or two before I answer.

Once a beautiful music box was given to a princess. It had a sequence of plastic bit-sized emeralds, fashioned in the form of a musical note, studded into the top. On the sides it had matching gold-plated latches, opened by a special key of no immediate importance. It stood on four stubby legs with fabric on the bottoms to prevent wear. The box was as white as a young swan, except for four undulating strokes of lavender on each side.
